I would first check with similar companies about their fee structure. You can call and ask for a quote over the phone and question how they base their rates (don’t tell them that you are asking so that you can bid on a cleaning contract or they will not be forthcoming with you – competition!!) The base should be so much per square foot but also make sure you know exactly what they want included and how often(trash pickup, windows, vacuuming, mopping/waxing/floor stripping, etc) and if they will supply cleaning products or if you will supply them. With this information you can determine how long the job will take and calculate a fair price for the company and for you to make a profit. If you aren’t currently bonded and insured you will need to check into those things as well because a company will definitely require it.
My friend worked for a cleaning company and decided that she could go into business for herself; by the time she considered all of the factors, she realized that it would COST her more than she would make. Since you are already self employed you are a step ahead, just remember that cleaning a home is quite different from cleaning a business.
Good luck.
